According to new plans, starting from 2023, Estonia intends to increase defense spending to no less than 5% of its gross domestic product. The country's president states that this decision was made after a thorough analysis of the region's security and threats that the country faces.

The president of the country stated: "We must ensure that our defense space belongs to us in order to protect our country from any potential threats. Increasing defense spending allows us to be more confident in our defense capabilities and preparation for various scenarios."
